I was thrilled to run into one of my friends at the EVO conference last week. We decided to skip one of the morning workshops so we could catch up. She suggested we go test drive one of the Buick’s out in front of the hotel. I didn’t even know there were cars to test drive and wasn’t very interested, but thought, why not, if that’s what she wants to do.
So we went to the both and while she filled out the consent form, I thought I might as well, too. Then I started to really look at the LaCrosse–I really liked the sleek design and thought it was kind of sporty–just the kind of car I liked. The passenger’s seat was roomy and I was intrigued by the cooled seats–what a great thing to have for those 100-degree days!
As she started driving, our Buick consultant, from the back seat, starting showing us some of the features of the LaCrosse and told us what they did. The more she talked, the more intrigued I was. I was really liking this car!
Then my friend pulled over and it was my turn to drive–boy, that driver’s seat felt great! As I pulled out onto the road I pressed the gas and the car took off–it handled beautifully and had “get up and go.” Our consultant kept explaining more features and I continued to fall in love with that car.
By the time I got back to the hotel, I was hooked. I walked around the car and really took a look at it. I opened the back door and noticed the large, comfortable back seat. I opened the trunk–plenty of room for the stuff I continually tote around with me. Then I picked up one of the brochures.
When my friend was talking to someone else, I read that entire brochure–it became one of my favorite take-aways from the conference! I called my husband and daughter and told them I’d found my next car. I described all of the awesome features of the LaCrosse that I was impressed with–navigational system, back-up screen, side mirror blind spot, bluetooth, iPod hookup, XM radio with pause and recording features, the headlights that “follow” you, tinted side mirrors and back window screen, the way the car senses the road up to 500 times a second and adjusts, and your speed projected onto the window–it doesn’t get any better than this!
For the next day and a half I would frequently sit by the window during the breaks and watched people take test drives in the LaCrosses; it became one of my favorite places to hang out at the conference.
When I got home I went through the brochure with my family. We got onto the website and reviewed all of the features again. I took the brochure to work and excitedly explained about the LaCrosse to anyone who would listen. Though I’m not able to trade my car in for another year, I’ve posted a picture of the LaCrosse at my desk. It always makes me smile.
I’ve definitely found my next car. It might take a while before I get it, but it’s definitely on my radar. I would love to have the opportunity to drive the LaCrosse for a couple of weeks–I really didn’t get enough of it at the conference last week!
